Lost or Found Pet
If you have lost a pet or found an animal that appears to belong to someone, you can report it through the County’s Lost and Found Pet system.
Submitting a report helps Animal Services begin the required 5-day stray hold for found dogs and cats. If you found a pet, you may keep the animal in your home during this period as long as you file a report and actively search for the owner.
When completing the report, please include a clear photo of the animal and note whether the pet is microchipped. Animal Services will attempt to contact the owner if microchip information is available.
Both lost and found pets will be listed on the Chatham 90 Lost and Found Pets Page for 14 days. Instructions for extending a listing will be included in your confirmation email.
Use the Lost/Found Pet form if:
-
Your pet is missing
-
You have found a pet that is not yours
Do NOT use this form to report animals roaming at large. For animals running loose in the street or neighborhood, please call Animal Services at (912) 652-6575.
